My memory banks are failing me. I remember getting into it w my co-driver at a truck stop. It was prob 35 degrees and he was washing the windows w the hose while I was fueling. He douses me w water, I jumped, almost lost control of fuel hose, shouted easy man you getting me wet. He comes around and just drenches me, I became irate. It was friggin cold. I had to smack it out of his hand, he who was twice my size comes at me. I grabbed a chunk of concrete I saw nearby and made it clear if he came any closer he was going to lose a few teeth. He said he was too tired to kick my a&& turned and walked into the truck stop. I go park the truck, sat for a few so I could calm down. As I was getting out to go find him the qualcomm goes off. If you leave your teammate we will report you for stealing the truck. confused.gif wtf.gif I message back that I had parked and was waiting. Oh ok was basically the response. So he called dispatch on me. I let it roll off my back and that was it. Nothing else said until we got back to the yard. He blew dust up in my face w the air nozzle.(?) Smiling an I'm sorry. I just laughed grabbed my gear and left. Told safety director to assign me new driver

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

I despise Rush. Something about them really annoys me. Dousing him w fuel almost happened. Dude was a real piece of work. He complained non-stop about his mother-in-law. She was into all of these health products that he thought were crap but tried to sell them to me. Pyramid scheme. If my dusty memory is correct I did not run but maybe two trips after that. One was solo to Maryland. I was backed into twice and I was turning into a yellow light that changed very fast. Cars just took off as if I were not there. I clipped a multiple highway signs and sent them down to the highway below. I guess. I could not figure out where they went on my return trip through. I do not know how I didnt hit a car that night. confused.gif Loving the song references. Even Rush I guess. Keep em coming. Dont think twice its alright.

I'm about 1.5 hours, north and some East. Tom delivers to Chewy in Vandalia, often. If I knew you'd be there....I'd ride along with!

We are 'Mansfield'ish...' Trash city anymore, sadly. Ohio Brass closed, and the factories got ransacked. Some womens' groups tried to rehab parts of it, to help the homeless, et al ... but it fell thru some cracks, upon approval. Westinghouse was there, too. Gone.

Mansfield is Richland County; we are Morrow County (Moron County, I call it ... haha!) just south of Mansfield.

We know SOOOOO many ppl that work(ed) at GM. . . and a few that still work for the steel plant, what little of it is open...in Mansfield. AK Steel. Arcelor Mittal (sp?) is gone, too.

Small world, eh?
