I have a speeding ticket from 03/18 of 67/50. I have a recent one on 06/21 of 80/55. I went to school for 16 weeks and obtained my CDL on December 6, 2021 and I’m wondering with having these already on my record if it’s possible they’ll suspend my CDL for life? Is there anything that I can do?

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Yes you are going to have a really hard time. 15+ over the speed limit is reckless driving. You will appear to be an irresponsible speed demon. You will get hired by a "second chance" company it lower pay and will need to put some time under your belt of safe driving before a better company with take you

Good luck

Since those 2 are in the past, they cannot suspend your CDL at the present time or anytime in the future for them. Now, if you get hired somewhere, and do 15 over the speed limit, you may be out of a job and will have points on your CDL. As one who likes to drive fast, I have a 75 mph truck, I won't do more than 5 over the speed limits out in the West. Back east I do the speed limit because it's more crowded with traffic and towns are closer together.

If you are 25 or younger, you may have a harder time getting hired, because your insurance will be a lot higher. All you can do is apply everywhere and then talked with the companies that show interest in you.

I had a difficult time getting hired from multiple high rate speeding tickets in the last 3 years. So, the 3/18 may not be too much of an issue. As said, anything over 15 is considered reckless. I just paid 688 plus another 100 to an attorney to get rid of a ticket I got a month or two ago. And that was only for 9 over, in my personal vehicle

Just see what sticks. I was honest and upfront about my tickets. And with a little help from a court clerk and devine intervention, two of mine disappeared entirely.

I believe knight is no more than two in the last 3 years.
