So many people over complicate it when explaining it! My actual logs advisor can't give a short direct answer for anything, but her weekend coverage explained it how Kearsey did, and it was a serious lightbulb moment!

11 drive shift minus the hours you drove between the 2 breaks is what you can drive

I only plan to use it (Will Pair) when I expect I will need to extend my 14. E.g. when I am waiting at a delivery for >2hrs.
When I have done this to extend my 14 and I stop at the end of my driving for the day, I always follow it up with a full 10hr break. This way I get a full clock to start.
If this makes it confusing, I apologize. I do mostly regional so I don’t need it much.

Regional Route
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.
