Perhaps we can come up with a statement that that more accurately describes what BK may have been trying to say. Something that also supports the fact that knowing how to drive a manual is not obsolete.

While knowing how to drive a truck with a manual transmission is not necessary in today's trucking world, it is an advantageous skill to have

RD, imho . . . that works; however . . . IT IS highly marketable.

From experience, now that Tom is back in the 'hiring pool.' Two out of the three companies he spoke to this weekend, made that clear.

ps: PJ 's gonna let me test out in his Pete; he just doesn't know yet . . . (shhhh!)

(I'm not totally kidding, however.)

Wish I'd seen this earlier. I was in Denver for the weekend. My load has a bunch of time on it and they couldn't find any local guys to take it so I couldn't T call it. I got paid layover for my 34 reset under the load.

I took the mustang out for a drive and tried to stay out of my head. Just took care of myself and enjoyed the time off while getting paid.

Well guys we can beat this one to death but I'm going to throw in my two cents worth. In May, when I was looking for a new job, I did more than the two companies a week for unemployment. I called 39 companies that had less than 150 trucks and only two had some manuals. I can drive a manual, and I much prefer a 13 speed, but I haven't driven any manuals since 2017. A couple weeks ago a road crew supervisor called me (have to remove my info from Indeed.com) wanting me to pull a dump trailer of some kind, but I already had this job. I asked him if he was running manuals or the automatics and he's running all automatics. I might have quit and done the road construction job if it was a manual πŸ˜‰πŸ˜
