I feel pretty safe in giving advice about a substance used exclusively to tread withdrawal from opioid addiction.

This is inaccurate. Suboxone, Subutex, and the generic variants of Buprenorphine are often prescribed (on label) for pain and more rarely prescribed (off label) for depression.

Lol, I'm not sure why you dug up the zombie thread, but you couldn't be more wrong. The primary purpose of Suboxone, it's components and deratives is to prevent opioid use. The entire addiction recovery community and medical community disagrees with your assertion.

On a real world level, having put many, many friends of mine in the ground, some recently due to opioid addiction, I assure you, it's a sensitive subject to me and one that I have indepth knowledge of.

Im not a trucker, just googled if you could do the cr england training program on suboxone and this came up. So it did help someone.

But i just registered to tell you he is right, while you are correct suboxone is 99 percent prescribed for opiate addiction, they are now prescribing it for pain and depression many times in patch form. It is not a good drug for that as the pain relieving qualities of suboxone suck but it is what it is. There are many things in the medical community that make no sense.

Also i would like to say although i am on suboxone i like what you said about it being a replacement. For me i know this but its keeping me alive. I do feel guilty taking suboxone but one day at a time. Im planning a taper as soon as some bladder issues i have from long term use of another drug are taken care of.

Also congragulations on your recovery and doing it with no crutches, you are a beast good sir.

Last thing, i started suboxone in 2009, since then ive been on it for 4 years of the past 11. The other where in 100 percent active addiction or prison. I know thats not a great success story but its not what im here for. As far as it being used as a taper for methadone i want to disagree on that bc i think that would send you into precipitated withdrawals, i know the methdone clinic makes you wait 3 days in between suboxone-methadone but i wouldnt be surprised if they didnt know that when it was developed.
