Hi, I had a DUI in 2020, tested at .08 in California. License was suspended because of it per DMV policy. Pled to lower charge to not have the DUI and points on my record. Now it’s wet wreckless is what they call it. Attended mandatory classes. Completed all. I wanted to apply to be a trucker. Honest on all applications, I’ve never lied at all at any time about any conviction I have. It’s either yes or no with me. I haven’t had any run in with the law. I don’t drink. That was a one time drink that day. I don’t drink at all. Can I still have a shot at getting into a trucking school? Turned down by one and it has me feeling like I won’t get a chance. Any advice???

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

DMV:

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

No. Being from Michigan you aren't aware of the bizarre and disturbing practices of the legal system in Mexico's Gay District. Divine B. doesn't have a DUI. What he/she/it/they has is a reckless driving conviction. Slightly better than DUI. Slightly.

The difference between a dry reckless and a wet reckless is mainly that a wet reckless is, "priorable" - meaning if the driver is charged with a DUI in the future it counts as a second offense with increased penalties. No one is ever charged for the crime of wet reckless. It exists only as a plea option for someone facing a DUI charge. Still, it's reckless driving NOT a DUI.

The good news is that I'm not aware of any trucking companies that refuse to hire drivers with a reckless driving conviction. There are a handful that have a lifetime ban on drivers with DUI convictions. The bad news is that reckless driving is a serious offense and no one will touch you for at least three years after your conviction.

So why did you drink and drive in 2020? Laws just don't apply to you, or was it not your fault because you were forced to drive drunk?
