Walmart Advanced Vehicle Experience Concept Truck

The Walmart Advanced Vehicle Experience concept truck is the latest in the Walmart fleet efficiency program. The one-of-a-kind prototype offers a whole package of firsts. The tractor has very advanced aerodynamics and is powered by a prototype advanced turbine-powered, range-extending series hybrid powertrain. The trailer is made almost exclusively with carbon fiber, saving around 4,000 pounds which can then be used to carry more freight.

The only reason they can afford that is because they don't pay their employees a living salary. So they took all that money they're saving by not taking care of their employees and making them broke and they put it into a new vehicle. My hate for Walmart is strong.

Bah! Give me a long nose Pete. The older trucks with the longer hoods are my favs. Kind of like old muscle cars. The new trucks might get better gas mileage and have more amenities, but they lack a certain aesthetic. That futuristic Wal-Mart truck looks like garbage to me. I want big and burly, not sleek and pretty smile.gif

True, nothing like a conventional with a big 'old awning over the windshield . . . some of 'em have the short rims too . . . look like old classic "chevies" the Cholo's ride around in . . . classic!

Maybe a little jumpin' on the hydraulics in the suspension . . . welded chain wheel up in the cab . . . 'oh da ley'

I think I love you.

But seriously, folks, Walmart is pure evil. As if it weren't bad enough that the average Walton makes roughly $18000 per hour, whereas the average Walmart associate makes $18000 per year, here's a personal anecdote for you. A gal I used to go to church with worked there several years ago. She was fired for leaving work to take her son to the hospital when he fell at school and broke his arm.

So yeah, I have zero love or respect for Walmart. I'll take loads into their DCs, because that's my job, but I will never shop there.

I've gotta say....I think that truck is awesome!!!! From a driver's standpoint the visibility is incredible and the truck looks like a rocket ship!

I mean, don't get me wrong....I love old-school stuff. I drive a '77 Chevy 4x4, heat my house with wood (switching to coal next year), and I raise animals and grow a huge garden, 95% of which I do by hand. But I also love science and technology. So I really dig this truck. The engineering is really cool.

I wonder if they have tested it against deer or moose?

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
