My assignments take me north from TX, I35, up into Oklahoma, on a regular basis. There is a scale not far from the state line in OK. Many of you are no doubt familiar with it.
I have never seen it closed, but yesterday it was. I always have to pull through this scale.
But yesterday as I approached, it said CLOSED. I thought it was odd, being in the early afternoon, but what the heck, good news for me.
As I got near the exit lane to the scale, I saw that a TMC truck had broken down at the beginning of the lane, blocking all other trucks from exiting. There were of course a number of troopers at the site and a road service truck. I’m sure the scale personnel wanted to get on with their business at the scale/inspection areas.
I don’t wish anyone a road breakdown, but that TMC truck saved me a little time!
