Community College Vs Private School

I'm brand new. I have an opportunity to attend either a private school for four weeks or a community college for ten weeks full time to get my CDL , both options paid for. The community college is an extra 40 minutes away, so over an hour additional daily round trip.

Which should I choose? I've heard community college are more thorough but also heard some people say forget about school and just get real experience.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

That's very strange. We thought you were an experienced driver. You've been asking questions for some time now about your equipment. You were using the screen name A W.

What happened that you now need to go to school for licensing? All of a sudden you've got a new name, a new account, and more questions. That's a great way to just get ignored.

Here's an example of one of your earlier questions...

That’s just a stock Wilson photo I imagine. Quickly searching google images I found a couple pics of the same woman for Wilson training.. so just same avatar or bots have invaded.

Have you considered the third option, company paid training with one of the established companies?

Community college could be good if you can afford the time. Probably better training than a 4 week private school.

I went to a well regarded private school but if I had to do it again, I would choose company paid training if I could get accepted.
