Polite Warning

Sometimes folks amaze me.

I parked in a legal parking spot and went to eat. As I was walking away from the truck a driver pulled up along the curb in front of me. With the length of my truck I have to go all the way to the curb to get out so my trailer doesn’t hit the truck next to me. I figured the driver was doing paperwork or maybe a 30 and I went to eat.

I came back and he is still there and in the drivers seat. The lot is not full by any means yet. I approached him and he rolled his window down. I told him with him parked there I cannot get out of my space. He asked which truck I was and I showed him. He said well I’ll move then. I told him I was leaving at 0200 and I was trying to be polite if he was planning on staying there so he didn’t have to get woke up at that hour. He thanked me and I went to my truck. 30 minutes later I look out and he moved up about 10 feet. I doubt I will be able to get out if the truck on my left is still there.

I tried to be polite and he seemed receptive, but his actions speak louder than his words.

We’ll see what happens in a few hours.

It never ceases to amaze me the laziness and lack of consideration of truckers.

I used to think that, but lost it along time ago. Some folks are just plain rude and think of themselves. Respect in our entire socitey has went down the tubes.

I manged to get out this morning without hitting anything, but I was less than an inch from him. I was so tempted to lay on the train horn when I got next to his sleeper, but I didn’t. I still have respect for other folks.
