A coworker kept getting warnings with the radar system. The maintenance guy found that the sensor was installed facing the wrong direction! It was facing the cab, not the road. I would think the engineer would have made it so you couldn't install it backwards.

Also, can anyone even buy a new truck without ACC and collision protection? I have my doubts

andhe78, what was the reason your company didn’t specify those features on the new trucks? I’d be interested in knowing the factors that influenced that decision.

The company I'm looking at to go to in Dec orders their trucks with none of those extra items. Their reasoning is that they hire professional drivers that don't need to be babysat. They say that they have less issues than when using those "safety" items.

Prime has found a few inventory stickers on the back of the radar cover on some of our new Freightliners that caused the same issue.

A couple of things. As some have mentioned, the deer guard could be affecting it. Also, one of the drivers at our company kept having issues; maintenance found a big tree leaf between the sensor and sensor cover Imagine that!
