As I was leaving my yard on my way home I was stuck in Amazon truck traffic. One of their independent drivers got out of his truck i thought he was going to open his side box.

Nope! He pulled a magnetic sign off the side of his white Volvo, unveiling a different company name and new set of DOT numbers!

I bet he is running multiple logs as well.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Crazy but believable. Who knows what some of those guys are up too.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Figures , it's Amazon. They do super sketchy crap locally too with thier cargo Vans, I really think half don't even have drivers licenses and they cruise around with hazards on and cargo doors wide open in thier unmarked white dodge Vans.

Two Amazon trucks took out two of my Conpany's truck on 84wb just West of Boise last week. None of our drivers were hurt, but BOTH Amazon trucks were going way too fast for conditions fishtailing all over the place.
