Was it 15 over in a truck or in a car? If it was in a truck it’s going to hurt your job prospects very significantly. If it was in a car it’ll still hurt you but you’ll still have decent luck finding a job most likely
Yeah it was in a Semi while I was on a run.
Jacob, yeah that is a problem. Not necessarily fatal but it does limit your opportunities.
15 seems to be the magic number for speeding. I’m surprised you were able to keep your job with a 15 over. I got a 15 over in 2022 and would have been fired if I couldn’t get it reduced. I got it reduced to a 14 over. But even that on my record is very damaging and will be for maybe another 3 to 5 years from the date of violation.
Because of that one blemish on a clean record, I now hesitate to apply for any other jobs because of that one incident. When I meet the Walmart criteria, I may give that a try but my violation may cause them to reject my application.
So it doesn’t hurt to try for another job, but not all companies and their insurance providers will hire a driver with a 15 over.
Did you attempt to get the charge reduced at the time?

Hey I wanted opinions on my driving record and job prospects. I have a valid CDL class A in Missouri and am looking for a local driving Gig. I got my CDL from New Prime Inc. by driving for the mandatory year , so a paid CDL. My issue is I have a speeding ticket from two years ago that was a 50 in a 35. It was not categorized as reckless driving by the officer. This was when I was driving OTR for Prime. Just want thoughts on what companies think about these issues. Thanks.
CDL:
Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
OTR:
Over The Road
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
