Hi All - my med card is expired because I need a cardiac release letter due to a stent I had implanted more than 10 years ago. My cardiologist won't issue me a release letter without a stress test at a cost of $6,000. I don't currently have insurance (or $6k) so no med card. Anyone have advice on this or know of a more reasonable cost for a stress test that will satisfy a cardiologist enough to issue a release letter?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Jim, that’s a tough situation to be in. 6 grand is a lot of money. Do you have any insurance available through the state of Ohio or Obamacare? Plus, what is the status of your CDL currently?

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

I have it as Intrastate until I can get the med card renewed

The act of purchasers and sellers transacting business while keeping all transactions in a single state, without crossing state lines to do so.

Do you have an intrastate job right now? I guess my previous question was about finding insurance to help cover the cost of the stress test. Any possibilities ?

Being unemployed, IF Ohio has any welfare system, just go on it for the medical coverage.....

In 2012 I wasn't "working" per se, and had to sign up for welfare... To cover the cost of my knee surgery, I sustained in a freak accident.....$100,000 bill when all done, & the state of Kalifornication paid the bill....
