Seems like they are changing up things to allow more drivers, are medical cards going to still be a requirement going forward

I’ve not heard anything about dropping the DOT physical exam qualification. It would be very surprising to see it eliminated.

Is there any basis for your question?

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Hello Allen!

I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say...

Seems like they are changing up things to allow more drivers.

It is a really tough hiring market right now. There is currently an over abundance of truck capacity. Simply stated, there are more trucks and drivers available right now than needed.

As to your question, medical cards are not going away. You'll always have to prove you are healthy enough by their standards to participate in this career.

Do you have some health issues that keep you from this career? If you want to discuss it with us, we might be able to help guide you into a helpful path or solution. We aren't all perfect specimens.
