Hello Guys, I looking into CDL school. I have narrowed it down to Roehl, and Wilson logistics, both have the paid CDL contract; which is fine. I'm looking for any opinions of info about either or both.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

None of us can make that decision for you. Both are great training companies, but offer slightly different perks/benefits/rules.

You need to chose a company based on what situation best fits your needs and goals. Then you should hope they pick you too.

The bottom line, to be successful in trucking, the name on the door doesn't matter nearly as much as the person in the seat.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
