Got Beard?

It is official, Averitt Express will now let you have a beard without a medical condition! Yay. I never got the beard prohibition. Too military like. We are men after all...Right? I am sitting here stubble faced typing this with no intention of shaving (other than keeping it groomed of course) any time soon. Now, if we can get rid of these da** uniforms... One can wear a comfortable shirt and a decent pair of jeans and still look professional. I thought it was bad to judge people by there looks anyway... You know, judge a man by his character. Oh well, maybe later.

I can't stand shaving..I've had a beard since I was 17... No intention of shaving... I'll use trimming scissors and trimming it but that's it.

Just don't stay close to people scratching like ya have fleas when it's been 3 to 4 days since you last shower. People might say a few unkind things.

And yes there will be times you will not be able to shower for 3 to 4 days. Not often but it will happen.

Thats what a jug of water and baby whipes are for. =) I use to wash my hair with a little shampoo and a gal jug of water if i couldnt make it to the shower.. Only took a few min and then used baby whipes for body.. didnt feel exactly like a shower, but good enough so I could sleep without feeling "Dirty"

Ha! Yeah, they can get itchy. I would go through stages where I wanted a beard then my daughter would say it makes her itch when we hugged, so, of course I would cave and shave. I have been beard free for over a year and am looking forward to letting it grow. My daughter is old enough to handle it now

Let's hope your not trying to come up with a homemade solution like a portal shower with a bucket, hose and shower head. That will end after the first time you try it.

Imagine this....errr or maybe don't but years ago I tried a work around on the shower thing. I had a setup with a hose hooked to a 5 gallon bucket and a shower head and it worked really well. I used to like parking away from everyone. Desert parking areas were great since they really went parking areas. No one around. I decided one night I needed a shower. Pulled out everything and was just finishing up when a spot light from a police car decided to lite up my naked butt. After I got dress and the officer stopped laughing cause he did not expect to find what he did only gave me a verbal warning and said not to do that again. The next morning I pulled away from there and watched my "Shower" fade in my mirror cause I left it right were it sat the night before and never thought about it again.

Got Beard?

Yes I do and its about to go bye bye. Stopped shaving my first week at Prime, 1 week from a year ago. Looking for a job that has more home time and free time. Figure it will be best to shave this poor excuse of a beard off prior to doing any more interviews. Had an interview with MBI energy services in ND over skype, thinking the shaggy hair may have been part of the reason I got a no hire. Website said they have a no facial hair policy.

The policy against beards is why I wrote Averitt off my list early on in the search for my first company. My beard is non-negotiable.

Not shaving is fun after three years in the military and 10 in law enforcement. I am letting it go and grow! Hair too.
