Yeah, we know exactly what you mean. The beginning of your trucking career is really, really tough. You have a million things to learn all at once, you always feel like you're in over your head, and to top it all off you're trying to adjust to an entirely new lifestyle all at the same time.

Everything about trucking will get much easier in the coming months except for as Guyjax mentioned - leaving home. That doesn't seem to get easier unfortunately. But shifting, backing, scheduling your runs - everything to do with trucking will get easier as you get better. Within a few months you'll feel so much better about the driving aspects of life on the road.

Just hang in there! Take it a day at a time and constantly focus hard on thinking positive and remaining confident in yourself. It makes a world of difference.

Almost everyone feels the same way you do in the beginning. It's one of the reasons that experienced drivers are so proud of the job they do - because they remember well just how hard it was to get where they're at.

Good luck my man! Flatbedding is a challenging division of trucking, but for the ones that I've talked to out there, they love it! So keep doing you're thing and continue to shine! I'll echo what Guyjax and Brett said, leaving home NEVER gets easier, and each time you leave it feels like the first time all over again. I have two pet ****atiels I was leaving, and whenever I left, they would act a fool, making constant noise up until the time I left, and when I came back, they would be in their moods and wouldn't want to come near me for a day at least lol.

I love ****atiels! Best little guys ever. :)

Hang in there, Phil. As far as the skills go, you'll get better. Just like driving a car, like you said -- at first, you were scared and didn't know what the heck you were doing. But now, you don't even think about what you're doing. It'll come to you. Just keep working hard, and try to keep your attitude right. Easier said than done, I know, but it helps a lot.
