Congrats keep us posted
Welcome aboard!
Sounds great! But one word of caution - if you misspell "steel" as "steal" you will have to write it on the board 500 times or be kicked out of the flatbedder's club. If you can't spell it, you can't haul it - that's the rule. I think it's Federal law, but don't quote me on that
I kid of course. But best of luck and looking forward to hearing how things go for ya!
The time will seem long but it will go fast - enjoy the time. One day at a time, my time with the trainer was invaluable. I'll look forward to your updates!
Well the first week is done and have already learned so much. Secured my first Suicide Coil the other day and my Trainer said that I did well and I am catching on quicker then most felt good secured the lead coil of two and after he checked it said looks good lets get rolling. got cleared on my drug test so I can start driving next week which I am looking forward to have to leave out on Sunday Night heading to Clayton NJ for a Monday Morning Drop then who know from there will keep you guys posted as it goes by
One Week Done four more to go then into my own TRUCK
You are doing great !!!You will make a great flatbedder...At the end of the day, its all about safety, tho. NEVER get hurried when your securing your load. Check it,,,then check it again. And you will NEVER be ticketed for adding an extra chain, or strap. but you will be ticketed if they find a lose strap or chain, even if its and extra.... Good Luck, from one Skateboarder to another ........
Well end of second week down and three more weeks of training till I get my own truck things are going well having problems down shifting and with turns manly moving turns just cant seem to get it down in gear fast enough and the cutting the turn either to close or to wide have not hit anything but have come close. and getting used to being away from the family is harder then I thought it would be I have gone from one end of emotion to another everyone keeps telling me it will get easier but how long will it take. I have never doubted myself as much I have in the past weeks am i good enough to do this am I strong enough to do this I so want to be I so need to be. people tell me remeber the firat time you got your license and your folks gave you the keys to the car the first time how scared and excited you where you did not have a clue then what you where doing but shortly after you started you got more comfortable and look now you do not even think about it when you go out for a drive it will get to be like that in the truck God so can not wait for that day well done rambling just had to get it out I just dont know
Well I have soon bad news for you.....leaving home never gets easier. No matter how many times you leave the house its like leaving all over again the first time hence why we say having a family at home makes it tough and we caution against 'young' families from getting into trucking.

Covered Wagon:
A flatbed with specially fitted side plates and curved ribs supporting a tarp covering, commonly referred to as a "side kit". Named for the resemblance to horse-drawn covered wagons.
