Hi All -
I had a quick question about trucking revenues that I wanted to run by the group. I have heard a number of folks that evaluate trucking companies (for financial reasons) say that on average, a company should make about "$10,000 in gross revenues per truck, per month".
However, I spoke to a couple of truckers who quickly who've said that those numbers are wrong. A good trucker with solid contracts should make a closer to 20K per month/truck.
I am sure there are differences based on region, type of freight, etc.
What is a good "industry average"?
Thanks, Marco
Wow not sure what you are asking this but I can tell you that your numbers are completely wrong and those drivers you asked... Well did they look hungry? Cause they are making barely enough to living on.
When I had my own truck I averaged a gross amount of $8500 a week on my settlement. That's $34000 a month. And that was @ $1.30 a mile. That's before all expenses. If you can not gross at a minimum of $30k a month then it's simply not worth doing.
I completely agree with GuyJax on this - that truck should be grossing around 375,000 dollars per year if you are going to make a living at this.
