Very cool.

CONGRATS!

No details on artists/etc - but details of the driving would be cool. Do they lay you up in a hotel, etc.?

A lot of bands have in-house trucking companies (Grateful Dead used Fischer Trucking out of San Rafael for decades). I've done production & road management (as well as front of house sound) for some mid-level acts.

On an arena level - schedules are super-tight. But the travel time is usually more than adequate - and most tours are 2 days in-a-row and one travel day (depending on venue). It's a cush gig, catering backstage is usually very nice. Plus the benefit of driving the TRUCK (versus the bus) is that you don't have to clean up behind a bunch of messy musicians.

This is a DREAM GIG for a new entrant to the industry - usually people work years and years to slide into something like this.

Congrats again…

Rick

Thanks Rick. I will be checking in with the details of the trucking experience for sure.

I feel very lucky to have been invited to join the OTL team. They told us stories about the bus and charter plane services (Averitt does those too. Who knew?) and I believe I will stick with the truck.

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Wow never known someone who does this! How cool is that? Traveling with bands, seeing the sights and eating good food! I saw a show some weeks back about a group of truckers that do what you're about to do. Schedule is tight but they loved it. Kudos to you! I would love to do what you're doing or drive for Nhra or nascar. That would be awesome. ..Stay safe out there and keep us informed!

Definitely! Right now I'm waiting to see if I will be flying to Miami to join a tour in progress and team drive to a spot up in the Northeast then California, then fly back to my truck in Nashville. Until I do know... Truckload. smile.gif

Thanks and will do James. I am still in disbelief. I think it will hit me on my first assignment, kinda like that first solo load... "Oh s***! Please don't let me screw this up."
