Hello Rafael, welcome to the forum!
Hey man, you don't have to live near a terminal. My first trucking job had their terminal a thousand miles from my house, and I still got home when I requested. I'm not sure if TMC or Maverick are hiring from your area, but it would be easy for you to find out by logging on to their web sites. Usually if you get an OTR Driving job that tries to get you home on weekends it will be with one of the flat-bed companies. Also what they mean by home on weekends is that you might pull in to the house on Saturday and then be leaving by Sunday night.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
