Dry ice will freeze everything it's packed with. Items you want not to freeze will have to be packed in a separate container.
I'm not a fan of the electric coolers. They don't seem to keep things cold enough for me so I have 2 coolers. 1 large 1 smallish. Stuff I keep frozen I keep in the smaller one on dry ice tbe bigger one holds everything else. I generally buy ice every other day. Make sure you keep them clean because bacteria can build up in them and that ain't good. The more you use it the better you will get at learning how to load stack and arrange things to keep them the temperature you like.
I do a lot of cooking in my truck. It helps me relax and I eat waaay more healthy than I would otherwise.

I have an electric cooler. Keeps temp 40 deg below ambient in cab. Works for me. However fiancee has put me on notice we are putting a fridge in. So far I have resisted. One concern is the cost. Other is if the truck has to go in the shop for a period of time, i can get a loaner. I can just move the cooler over, cant do that with a fridge. Mine is the igloo brand
I've been using the Coleman electric cooler for over a year now and it works fine. I did have to replace the 12v plug though because it burned up. Not the coolers fault, I had it plugged into a cheap splitter which also went crispy.
I tried a traditional cooler and it is too much of a mess to deal with, especially after a couple long days.
BTW, I only paid about $90 or so for it at a Pilot. Well worth it.

Ok so Im not very smart when it comes to scientific stuff. Mainly because in highschool science class was my nap time. When I finally get to the point of geting my own truck i more than than likely will not be able to afford a fridge or a power cooler. I was wondering would dry ice work in a normal cooler?
