Is this a joke!? Lol.. I'm sorry to laugh but really? Peta is bat S@#$ Crazy if they wanna do something like this... I can give them locations of numerous places I've hit Wild Game if they would like to erect a Monument for them too.

But wait..there's more! The chickens were being transported to a processing plant when the accident occured.
What about all the insects killed by us evil truck drivers!? I`m forming a new group: People for the Ethical Treatment of Insects (PETI)...
...This is where I would normally cuss and berate a lot...
See the publicity they got on this site so far? I remember this story when it first came out, they just want the recognition. 
Although some of its members have good intentions, peta is a terrible organization. They've done ad campaigns in the past comparing chickens and pigs to victims of the holocaust. Animal "shelters" that they run have been caught time and time again depriving animals of basic care, as well as euthanizing over 95% of the pets they take in.
The chicken memorial, while laughable, is not surprising...peta is all about publicity and money.

PETA Wants Roadside Memorial For Chickens Killed In Crash
BRYAN (October 9, 2014) The animal rights group the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants to erect a 10-foot high roadside memorial at the site where an 18-wheeler loaded with chickens overturned last month in Bryan.
PETA is requesting permission from the Texas Department of Transportation to place the memorial at the intersection of Highway 21 and FM 2818, the Houston Chronicle reported.
On Sept. 30, a Sanderson Farms truck hauling about 5,500 chickens overturned there when the load shifted.
Some of the birds were killed.
The memorial would bear the inscription, “In memory of the hundreds of terrified chickens who suffered and died at this spot September 30 2014. Go Vegan, PETA."
