So this past week i started my orientation at TMC. It's been a good experience so far. It did surprise me how many people went home in the first 2 days. I'd have to guess that about 35 people started on monday and today, 4 days later, there are only about 23 left. The tarps got about 4 people, the balance test got one, and i have no idea what sent the rest home. So far i'm second in the class in terms of testing and had no problem adjusting to the 13 speed, so i'm starting to feel more confident that i wont get the boot. Either way these magnificent looking trucks and observations i've made regarding how the company treats people keep driving me to do my best. TMC was my first choice by far based on the research i did, and everything i've seen so far agrees that it was good information and a good decision to come here. I didn't bring my own laptop and i'm using someone elses who's leaving today and because i plan to train without weekend breaks i won't be able to update until i'm either in my own truck or get booted. If it all goes well the next post i make will have a picture of my with me big shiny black and chrome peterbilt. Wish me luck!
