any recommendations on a decent headset that works well in the cab environment?

There's really only two options that work well for truckers. The one preferred by most is the blue parrot which is what I have and its excellent. The other would be the plantronics voyager . Both will set you back around a hundred bucks. Though I got my BP on Wal-Mart.com for 75.

I'm not sure how the Blue Parrots do, but I purchased a Plantronics Voyager and love it. Works great, holds a charge for 3 days or 7 hrs of talk time, even bought the nifty charge case which holds like 14hrs of charge to it. So I can put it in my pocket and it'll charge. Both items set me back about 130$. But well worth it as a ticket is triple that.
