You'll have a good time Josh. Try to have some fun out there. Don't ever be late for any event during your week. On time is late, early is on time, and late means going back home. The best thing you can do for yourself is to study Prime's Pre-Trip Inspection thread. That thread is exactly what you will be tested on, so learn that thread and you'll ace that test. Better to get a head start!

Pre-trip Inspection:

A pre-trip inspection is a thorough inspection of the truck completed before driving for the first time each day.

Federal and state laws require that drivers inspect their vehicles. Federal and state inspectors also may inspect your vehicles. If they judge a vehicle to be unsafe, they will put it “out of service” until it is repaired.

Hahaha I'm already frantically reading the high road but I think that thread would be good for in between sections. Thanks!

I'll see ya around here. I'm at Campus for the next few days, here to test. I wanted to try to hook you up with my instructor, but he'll be heading out of here after I pass my CDL test on Monday with a new student, a little bit too soon for you.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

You're going to come in soon, they won't give you the boxed food thing that people get when they come in on Sundays, because you're coming in the day before they're ready. You won't get free meals until Monday morning, or any meals because the campus cafeteria doesn't open until then. I don't know what your situation is, but a lot of people come here broke. PMing you my number, call me if you have any inconveniences, I'll get you fed.
