Tried to make it a topic... Community wants to put stop on jake brakes

Whats your take on this stuff? Inconsiderate, disrespectful drivers or citizens that have lived here for 20, 30 and 40 years and have watched and listened as the problem has grown out of hand...

I keep seeing all these references to cruise control, what's cruise control ? I always thought it was your right foot lol.

I use my jakes only when loaded, I use high when exiting the freeway or needing a fast stop in conjunction with the brakes, I leave it on low when driving in heavy stop and go traffic. I don't get snow here in Phoenix but my guess is that I would only dare to use low if at all. Jakes are just like brakes if you want less jake use low, if you want off the jakes hit some gas or flip the switch. I also use it on long downgrades, high or low depending. I also use cruise control to help me not get a ticket as my truck will run 80.

Oh I don't blame the citizens at all. There's no need to use your Jake Brake in town like that. My sister used to live near the bottom of a rather steep bridge and trucks would roll past with the Jakes on day and night. It was really loud. She got used to it somewhat after a while but it's tough to deal with. Remember, it's day and night, 7 days a week, 365 days a year they have to deal with that noise. I don't blame the citizens at all for wanting a restriction put up in their town.
