what are some must have items that you cannot live with in your truck? (i.e. phone computer tv. cooking devices)

A steering wheel, maybe a couple pedals, a big shiny red button that warns you not to press it knowing that you will anyway.

Pretty much sums it up lol

Items i tell people are: coffee pot, cooler (iceless or if you want to buy ice every day, a normal cooler), cooking devices such as 12v skillet, forman grill if you have a power inverter, some minor dishes and utensils, like a bowl, cup, plate, knife, fork, spoon.

If you get a coffee pot, you can have hot water, tea or coffee. An Iceless cooler lets you have a sorts of foods like sandwich fixings, some meats or fresh fruit/veggies, and having a 12v skillet will allow you to cook in or out of the truck. Having a power inverter installed will allow you a tv,Forman Grill, coffee pot, xbox, laptop, etc....

This may not be for truck but are MUST HAVES for me. I bought a little tool bag from walmart for like $6. (Doesn't look like a purse too much) and in this bag i have all my normal toiletries + (here come the most important items) a can of scrubbing bubbles, my own toilet paper, and a box of flushable wet wipes.

That's exactly what I'm asking. What are those must have items that each of you make sure to never leave home without.

Now i am down for the night and can further explain. I cant tell you how many times i have ran to the bathroom to only find one stall left and then you realize why every one skiped over it. You open the door and someone pooed all over the seat, or theres no toilet paper. I have handed over my scrubbing bubbles under the stall before when you hear the stall open next to you and some guy says "wtf" he appreciated my readiness. Lol.

Cigarettes. Blow Pops. 350 watt inverter. Laptop. Cheap used books. Powerade.

I do fine without a microwave, fridge or cooler.

.... cooking devices such as 12v skillet, ...

I'm thinking about a small propane stove. About the size of a small phone book ("phone book "? What's that? confused.gif ) You'll get more heat and not have to worry about extension cords.

I can understand why sometimes these restrooms are just nasty, considering some of the nasty drivers out there... but what about these places that never seem to clean or maintain their restrooms? It seems at some truck stops that they care less about their restrooms than the truck drivers/patrons. We need to let the employees and mangement at these places know that they need to step up their game and keep their places as clean as possible. While we cant control the nasty jackwads that make the messes, the truckstops still need to do their best to keep up. It' up to the rest of us who were raised to have manners and hygeine habits to hold them accountable. OK, off my soapbox now :) I suppose I value my health and hold myself to a higher standard than some of the slobs we work with, what motivates them to do the things they do is a mystery to me. Even at te company Im currently calling home (non trucking IT gig in an office), the company recently announced they are outsourcing a dept, right after that somebody decided to show their displeasure by defacating on the bathroom floor and then stepping in it and tracking it all over the office. True story, no lie, so it's not just truck drivers who are this nasty. OK, so off my soap box for real this time! :)
