Congratulations Scott, it's all very exciting isn't it? Keep a level head out there and try your best not to hit anything. Manage your time well and be thoughtful when planning out how your going to go about each trip. Time management is a big part of being a successful driver, and once you've convinced your dispatcher that you know how to handle this stuff, you'll be their "go to" guy on the better loads. Of course you may be called upon to bail out another driver that didn't plan things out so well, but even so, that kind of stuff cements you in the dispatchers and load planners minds as a driver that can always be counted on.

I hope you do real well at this. good-luck.gif

Dispatcher:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
