I just did the update...thanks to you folks alerting me that there was one. I had just about given up hope.

Plugged in, did the system update first, then the map. Finished perfectly, just took quite a long time.

Just an FYI most of the rand mcnally GPS have life time maps.

Guess I should check my 530 for an update. ..

what they consider lifetime is not what you think. For them its "lifetime of the device" which in their minds is 2-3 years according to their rep on truckers report.

I just did the update...thanks to you folks alerting me that there was one. I had just about given up hope.

That may be a clue... I was told to load the maps first... What type of Micro SD card did you use for the maps?

Are you still having trouble? I would get that prompt sometimes and just reconnecting would let windows see the box. The RM Dock will tell you if you are connected to their portion of the show....

I can't believe I let myself get into this mess. I have worked with software for over twenty years as a recording engineer and I know not to load a new, major release too soon. The defacto operating procedure for most companies is to release it when it is CLOSE , then fix in the field with updates.

I can't do a thing until I get to home time, find a dedicated, broadband ethernet connection and call tech support. I want to send it in, but I hear they use remote access, so I'm sure they will just want to do it online....

what a pain....

USB not recognized The last usb device connected to this computer malfunctioned,and Windows does not recognize it (that's what it is still saying)
