Hello, my first post here. Glad to meet everyone.

I'm just making sure before I start saving money for my driving school that I will not be disqualified due to my glasses. I am nearsighted and recently got tri-focals (yes, I'm 46 years old).

Am I safe as long as my glasses give me 20/20 vision?

Thanks for the help.

Welcome aboard Ken!

Yap, as long as your vision is 20/40 in each eye, even with correction, you're good to go.

I also read somewhere that you are required to have atleast 2 pairs in truck, in case anything happens to 1 pair you'll have backup

That crossed my mind - that would be a good idea.

Yes, do that. In fact, get a pair of prescription Sunglasses also, and keep a copy of your prescription with you so you can hit a one hour eyeglass place on the road if need be.

If you are an old guy like me, you'd be out of service without your glasses.

Good idea, wouldn't have thought about that.
