I asked how that could be. He said, "I'm on paper logs!" rofl-3.gif

We call those fairy tales..... The ending is always changing.

Oh come on, nobody ever cheated on paper logs.

I mean, what are the chances that any driver ever ran 850 miles straight starting late in the afternoon and at midnight went back and changed the previous day to look like they picked up in the am. That would never happen.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

I drove 673.6 miles in 11.49 hours today total ,on duty 12.48 hours. all on e logs. just found a Wal-Mart with parking. I was scared because no parking at two truck stops and I was running out of hours. don't know if the office will be happy or mad. but I am going to sleep. I will see in the morning.

The front office might let you get away with it but sooner or later DOT will catch up to you, its still a violation. Just because safety over looks it doesn't mean they can help prevent you from receiving a citation.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

You guys need to learn how to log. there is no 11 hour a day rule. it is 11 hours after a qualifying break. today I drove 10.5 hours in 12 hours. I am on break I will drive at 2300 hours and have 11.5 hours today. Schneider is fine with this and does not allow cheating. this is the first e log I ever had, I was scared I couldn't make money with it. I have learned how. I like it.

Right, but that's pure hell should you find yourself running on recaps. You want to balance your hours. The last thing you want is 5 hours, 11 hours, 14 hours, 4 hours, 10 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours. Having recaps like that will eventually bite you on a delivery and cause you to be late.

Yea, you got me there. I was thinking 700 in a SINGLE 11. I left off the extra 3 on the next 11.

Touche....
