I knew I shouldn`t have clicked on this.

A bit off topic

Starcar is coming at this from one point of view. Lewis C. comes at it from another. Here is a third:

I was once made to feel like, and treated as, the one who tried to "out run" my responsibilities. Truth? I paid more than the court ordered (the amount plus extras when they were with me). The problem is, for the first several months, I did not get receipts. My ex failed to add a certain amount when asked to give the court my payment information. Next thing I know I am standing in front of a judge being told I was guilty of contempt of court. (no, I did not hire a lawyer because I did not think it was necessary). 2 days in jail and several months later I did get a lawyer, went back to court and my ex gave the judge the correct amount. The judge ordered my record to be expunged. This was before the license suspending law. What would that have done to help my boys if I was driving a truck at the time and then could not?

There are different circumstances for every situation that need to be considered before placing judgement on someones character. Unfortunately, the blanket laws do not allow for that.

With all that said, a suspended license for any reason is a no no to most trucking companies.

So glad i never had kids. All that child support stuff sounds like a major headache. Stay single and wrap it up my friends.

DAC:

Drive-A-Check Report

A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).

It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.

Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.

Someone in orientation (CRST) was dismissed an hour ago. He told them his license was suspended in 2012 (he didn't specify a duration). He has a valid CDL A from 5 days ago though.

I am unaware if he was up front from the beginning, or he just now 'admitted' to it.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Here in AZ if you already have a CDL they cannot suspend your CDL for child support its your only way of making a living on the other hand a judge can set a timetable on to when you need to be employed and if not met fine you.But you did state that you got your regular license suspended so yeah could be difficult road ahead.
