Thanks, Rolling Thunder, Robert B, Mr. Smith, Errol V and Brett Aquila for all of your advice. I had not a clue which ones to get since I have not been using my cell phone for the past couple of years more than once or twice a month, if that. It seems it is the apps that are the plus with these phones. I do have an Acer Aspire M i5 laptop with 8.1 I do not think I can live without and a Kindle 6 wich is pretty nifty, I just have never gotten into the phone craze yet. Again thanks to all of you for your comments and advice with this important decision.

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

Your Kindle has access to apps doesn't it? You might be amazed what you can get on it in regards to work related ones. I could be completely wrong but worth checking in to.

As far as phones go samsung all the way I have a s4 mini and my wife has a s5 full version I wish I would have seen this post sooner. Verizon Def has the best coverage but also the biggest price ( it's worth it) if I was running a truck right now I would want the full sized phone because it makes everything easier as Brett pointed out but I like my mini for what I'm doing right now as it fits in my pocket easily ( in a truck your phone will likely be dash mounted so the bigger the better ).also as brert pointed out the samsung s6 just came out which is another top notch product and superior too the iphone in ny opinion although they did away with the external storage on these but I don't thing the iPhone 6 has external memore capabilities either (lame). Anyhow the iPhone got enough support on here for me to give a Samsung rebutte I trult believe in samsung products the Iphone was super complicated to me and the Droid can be too but the samsung phones seemed to be the easiest to learn and also performed my above wildest dreams as Brett pointed out anything will prob do the trick for u as its a new for u but whatever u learn on I phone or Droid stick to it otherwise it's just gonna drive u mad cause they are quite different in how they operate

I want to thank everyone for their advice, it was very helpful. I got online with Verizon and ordered a i5 since it was .99 cents and went in to pick it up and ended up leaving with the 6 with an otter case clip after the salesman showed me all the gadgets and durability. I spent most of the night trying to figure it out and program it . The 6+ was just a little large for me and I just got progressive glasses so everything should work out right. Wow, felt like I left the cave. Anyone who does not have a smart phone , eat beans for a while if need and buy one.
