It is time for me to lay down my ten year old phone and get a phone with app functions. I need it for functions like Trans Flo etc. I have looked at I phones and something called a Droid Turbo so far. I am not so worried about price as I will continue to eat beans and spend where it counts, though I just need it to function for simple task. I will be going through Verizon.

I would appreciate any and all comments as to what has worked best for you. Thank you.

Hey Jeff. I have Verizon as well and I use the iPhone 6 plus. It works great for everything I need to do. I get 30gb of data for about $150 a month. I used to have a Droid and it just could not keep up with me.

Thanks , I bet with 30gb of data you can use your phone as a hot spot for a laptop for a short period of time?

That is exactly what I do. I have Dish anywhere so I can get my TV viewing on when the antenna doesn't pick anything up.

I'm an android guy and have the Note 3. It does everything I need it to and more. My wife and I are with Sprint and I hate to switch since we're grandfathered in for unlimited data. The down side is that Sprint is good but Verizon is better in regards to service availability.

I have Verizon. Hands down best service. Before Verizon I had AT&T. Verizon's coverage is better in 99% of the cases. I think there was one place that the AT&T guys had better reception. Anyways to answer your question lol.

I Never had any kinda smart phone until about 2012... I bought an I phone mainly because I was away from home and needed internet access for research and my laptop broke...

I loved the iPhone. Got a new iPhone 5 loved it never had problems. Was going to get the I phone 6 but wanted a bigger screen.

I fought myself and really wanted the galaxy note. I was talked into the LG G3 I hate it. Completely. I took my friends galaxy note to see if it was a droid thing or just an lg thing. Hate it.

Next time I get a new phone it will bee the iPhone. I really really miss it. I'm tempted to drop my android based fone on purpose.

You will not go wrong with an iphone.

I've had a Samsung Galaxy S4 for s year, so far. Nearly all my posting on TT had been done with it. Of course handles all the Android apps.

I have both an iPhone 6 and now a Galaxy S6 I just received yesterday. They are both truly astounding phones that can do 10 times more than any of us will ever use them for. They're the two best phones in the world so I would go with one of those.

You really have two decisions to make about the phone:

- Android versus iOS (Apple)

- Screen size.

Android versus iOS - for you, since you're not a "techie", I would say iOS. Android has more raw capabilities if you're into the bleeding edge, experimental stuff that power users mess with a lot. But for the overwhelming majority of us, we just want our phones to be easy to use and reliable. I prefer iOS by that measure. I think the learning curve is more gentle with iOS and I think the software runs a little better than Android. Everything just seems a little easier, a little more intuitive.

Screen Size - you absolutely must look at some phones to determine what screen size you want. The iPhone 6 is pretty large with its 4.7 inch screen size and the "iPhone 6 Plus" is even larger at 5.5 inches. You'd think, "So what? A difference of .8 inches?" ..... Let me tell ya, that's a massive difference. When I saw the two phones I laughed at how huge the "iPhone 6 Plus" was. It's massive. Now if you're going to be scanning documents, using face time to chat with people, and using maps for GPS you'll likely want the bigger screen. I wanted the smaller screen because it's easier to hold while using it and it fits into my pocket easier. Do not assume you'll want one or the other. Try out the two sizes for yourself before deciding.
