I am looking to maybe start team driving with my husband but, I have a concern that My irratable bowel syndrome will be a big problem. I am wanting advice from truckers and what they think. Will needing to go to the restroom alot have a big problem in driving? I do have medicene for when it acts up and it does help most of the time. but sometimes its a "I have to go Now" kinda thing.

From my point of view, it'll definitely be an inconvenience but I wouldn't let it stop me. The truth is, there's no always a restroom 5 minutes away. If you're driving 62mph lets assume you do 1 mile per minute. If a rest area is 45 minutes away and you all of a sudden have to go - you'll need to hold it in for 45 minutes. Like I said, I wouldn't let it stop me but it would be an inconvenience. I would definitely buy a porta-potty for those emergencies when a restroom isn't near. Starcar would definitely give you a wonderful answer for this question.

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Having IBS, and being in a truck would necessitate having a porta potty, at best. If that is within your ability, then you will be ok. I have a niece with Crones, and at times she has what appears to be IBS..and when she hasta stop, she hasta stop...and not 100 miles down the road. Because of this, when she travels, she pulls a small camp trailer that has a full bath in it. Good Luck, enjoy your time in the truck...

Welcome aboard Brandy!

Yeah, the toughest part will be getting through the training because you're running team. So privacy may be an issue depending on who your trainer is.

But you can definitely keep a little travelling porta-potty with ya for emergencies.

There are like 3.5 million truck drivers in the U.S. and I'm sure a fair share have similar issues so it's certainly something that can be dealt with.
