The return to duty program is for employees, what I don't understand is swift hadn't actually hired me yet. I was getting ready to go to orientation when I got booted. I am totally confused on this, I also applied for a DAC report, to see if this is on my driving record. I'm willing to do what ever DOT requires of me, for I want to make the truck driving my career. Does anyone have any advice for me.?

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Hypertension:

Abnormally high blood pressure.

DAC:

Drive-A-Check Report

A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).

It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.

Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.

I assume you take Adderall for ADD and that caused the positive result on you're drug test? Did you tell them up front you have a script from your doctor? Can't see how you could be let go because of a prescribed medication. I'm sorry to hear this. I also take adderall and start school in 10 days so thank you for sharing your situation. I can function without it so I think I'll take the safe route and not take it.

Do you take workout supplements? When I first started I was a gym rat and i was taking creatine and a fat burning supplement and I was concerned one of these would cause a false positive for amphetamines. Many GNC products will positive you.

I am a driver for 25 yrs and never came across a company that does hair follicle tests. Until recently i was informed that JB Hunt and CR England do the hair follicle tests. Are there more companies that are going this rout and who are they? I have a 21 yr old son looking to start trucking. he has been clean for about a month now, and after research i have found that the hair follicle test goes back only 3 mths. He can pass a urine test but.......... Any and all help will be appreciated.
