Just figured I'd start a thread about this. I don't know about everyone else but since I've been out solo I mostly listen to audio books to pass the time. Sometimes I'll switch to Pandora or my NPR news app.

So far I've listened to:

Dune - Frank Herbert (all 6 books) Legends of Dune - Brian Herbert & Kevin Anderson (all 3 books) Philosophy of Mind Lectures - Professor John Searle The Art of War - Sun Tzu The Odyssey - Homer The Iliad - Homer

I'm waiting for the next Ice and Fire book (Winds of Winter)... but it's taking Martin forever to finish it! lol.

I used to listen to audio books and I absolutely loved em. I can't think of a more enjoyable way to pass the driving time. I also had satellite radio and used to listen to NPR quite a bit. And of course I love to read so I'd pass the down time reading quite a bit.

I have an audio book of the New Testament. 17 hours of audio. Its nice to listen to something when I have no radio and when I get bored of my Ipod.

I just watch the soap opera play itself out on the road, while listening to my sixth sense, in these dog days of brown nosing (in new and technologically advanced or multitasked ways), I prefer to hone my catlike reflexes and personal space on that note. But then, I'm easily entertained.

I couldn't do the audio book thing..earbuds really hurt me...and TSB could hear me if I even opened a soda bottle ( but he can't hear the screaming meemee...go figure). So I just enjoyed the chat on the cb (that didn't bother TSB, either)..which at night, got really interesting. It always amazed me how many highly educated people drove trucks !! I learned alot during those night runs....

Once I finally get my butt in a seat I think I will get some of the cd's that teach another language. Figure it can't hurt to learn some Spanish and ill have plenty of time on my hands.

Love NPR.

Have too many to list as far as audio books. They were all on cassette tapes. Yes, I said cassette.

Back in the days a radio was of no real use. We had the CB, but that would get old sometimes too. I found that I learned a great deal while on the road. I read books too when I had the time or could not sleep. I have ready many of those too.

I had bought a great deal of philosophy and psychology tapes. Listening to Sartre or Descartes.

Their is so much out there these days. You are doing something very good.

Have you tried any Robert Whitlow books? Mountain Top and Jimmy are my favorites. I also suggest Charles Martin. He will tear your heart out. God what good books he writes. Hers's a link I just found. He is good. http://charlesmartinbooks.com/blog

Wow, now you got me buying them. Thanks.
