Welcome CaliWalidad!
Oh yeah, you can certainly find work but you really do want to get a lawyer and fight that in a big way. Get it reduced as much as possible. Your options will be more limited if you can't get it reduced, but that alone certainly won't stop you from landing a job somewhere.
Protect that license Paige. It's your primary resume at this point.
Good luck!
.....two lawyers walked into a bar...
Seriously CaliWaliDad, I am echoing Brett's suggestion that you get an attorney.
The ticket you received is likely bargainable down to a lesser offense. Depending upon the jurisdiction and the write-up, you may even be able to get it down to a non-moving violation like obstructing traffic or something. But this is much too important to go it alone on.
Hire a competent attorney that has extensive experience in the local traffic court in the jurisdiction. Lawyers seldom get things like this dismissed, rather what they do is make a compromise with the prosecutor so that, in their opinion, everyone wins. Then, you have the attorney fee and the fine to pay while the lawyers can go have a drink and tell lies to one another.
Always contest every ticket.
Hi! I have a very recent "failure to maintain control" in my personal vehicle. The company that was hiring me told me that they couldn't hire me for three years unless I got it changed to a simple speeding ticket. I am contesting it, but if I don't win, is there any company that will hire me?
