Got my first oversize load the other day. It ran from Greenville, Alabama to Greenwich Connecticut. Boy was that a learning experience. I even had to cross the George Washington bridge at 12 feet wide! It's too long a tale to give you all the details here, but it was very exciting to say the least. I was hauling some laminated wood trusses and beams for a timber frame construction project at a park in Greenwich.

I think I'll turn the story into a blog post and put it in the blogs section. I don't recall seeing anything in there about hauling oversize loads so maybe that will be a good thing to have in there.

Take that 'Rookie Solo Driver' tag off of your profile.

Yup...Thats a No Shnitzer.....you ain't no rookie when they trust you with oversize.. My hat is off to the oversize haulers and the mobile home totters...They couldn't pay me enough. That is driving truck every second of the trip...no sight seeing. To intense for this driver. I like to enjoy my paid vacation.....

Great job Old School.

May I ask what route you took? You mention about going across GW Bridge. That is hard enough without a wide load.

I am like Starcar. Not enough money to pull over sized loads like that. And more so in New York City area traffic. shocked.png

Keep it safe out there. Joe S

That would be an awesome blog post. A NYC story and an oversize load at that! smile.gif
