Other night in Kalamazoo Michigan I waited probably 5 minutes to have enough room to get out into the round about. It seemed like the cars were never going to stop coming

You start moving into the roadway, very slowly. Soon someone will chicken out. Then you smile/wave and be on your merry way.

That's my signature move. Other day I was turning left off an exit, this lady had just turned into road from opposite off ramp. She sees me pulling left toward her and vibes flying toward me and slams on her brakes and throws her arms out the window. I smiled and waved and she told me I was number 1

I love roundabouts and mythbusters proved it improves traffic flow... something like 25% more cars vs stop signs and traffic lights.

The roundabout entry in Wikipedia has more statistics about saving fuel and reducing exhaust gases and time saved for not waiting and all the stuff that you never thought you'd want to know.
