Last week i got a reading of 143/97. I took my 10 year old nephew with me to the local ymca and we played basketball and ran around for almost 3 hours straight. About a half hour after that i checked my bp and it was down to 136/88.

Both times i checked it in the walmart at those free health machines. This time it was a different walmart.

I'm sure those machines aren't spot on accurate but still it's nice to see those numbers lower. Now i just have to keep it up. I plan on doing this every saturday 1-5pm.

I'm eating bananas and drinking apple juice for breakfast and drinking a lot more water.

I had a DOT physical in October. Bp was 139/90. Just got a 45 day card due to sleep apnea. Was told "GO ON A DIET!" She suggested the Atkins diet (which is easy for me) any how, in two months I lost 30 pounds and next physical bp was 132/74.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Sleep Apnea:

A physical disorder in which you have pauses in your breathing, or take shallow breaths, during sleep. These pauses can last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. Normal breathing will usually resume, sometimes with a loud choking sound or snort.

In obstructive sleep apnea, your airways become blocked or collapse during sleep, causing the pauses and shallow breathing.

It is a chronic condition that will require ongoing management. It affects about 18 million people in the U.S.

She (Doctor ?) offered you Good Advice, If most people followed Dr Atkins, then 1/2 of the Doctors and Drug companies would be out of Business :)

Turbo Dan offers this bit of wisdom:

Yeah Buddy,...so too would Kellogg's, Quaker Oats, and General Mills. LOL. I'd have no more backhauls!

The only problem with Atkins is that it's a crash diet. A Keto diet is much better long term and results in a healthy lifestyle change. It takes a bit longer to get the weight off but does it at a rate where a person is more likely to keep it off and instills better eating habits.

It all comes down to ditching Sugars (which everyone already knows) and all Grains, search Dr William Davis "Wheat Belly"
