Trust me....I do understand that training will be a challenge for me, being in someone else's truck. As long as he does at least the human minimum to put me at ease, it's ok. I just don't want to be stuck with an a**, because then there would be a blood bath. ;)

Of course, I'm kidding. Somewhat.

RV, I know you are doin' your thang a bit here, but seriously if you are stuck with a true a**, then ask to be switched. You clearly know what is right and wrong and what you can tolerate. Establish a mental boundary, you'll know real quick if it's problem. When you are training a good trainer makes all the difference in the world. I knew day one I had the "right" trainer...so will you.

Remember rv the load always comes first. When I trained, we did team loads from the start. My trainer explained to me how it worked. We ran muffins from Phoenix az to up state ny. Most of time we had 2 to 3 stops one after the other. We would get to shower when we got done with are last delivery. To to a truck stop shower eat a sit down meal and wait for are back haul. Then we were would drive 2 to 2.5 days back deliver that load and get to shower then. That truck only stopped running for fuel, at the end of delivers, and for 30 hours in Phoenix. I tell you this because that what the load requred us to do. It had nothing to do with what we wanted it was about what the load required. We did 8/2 spits for pretty much 5 days and then get a rolling 34 hour reset in. Just be prepared to make sacrifices Will training if the load requires it.

I'm not doing team driving. And regardless of what anyone here says, "nature" comes BEFORE any load. When you gotta go, you gotta go! Simple as that. Men seem to forget that a woman cannot just "whip it out and stick it in a bottle" to pee. It doesn't work that way, period. As a woman driver, when I'll need to use the restroom, I'll stop at the closest spot to the highway (rest area, gas station, Walmart, anywhere...) and if that's not possible, I'll stop somewhere safe and take care of business with my emergency back up (a pot, bucket with kitty liter...) Seriously, there is not one job on this planet that will put suffering on me that bad, just for the sake of "doing my job". Frankly, I feel like I'm arguying a point that needs no argument at all...lol When nature calls, you can't just keep on going and ignore it....I don't have a habit of peeing or pooping myself and I don't plan on starting anytime soon! LOL Like many of you told me, it's all about planning and being creative. :)

We know. MPW was providing an example of how the load and type of work effects when and where you can break and shower. That was his point. "Teaming" was with his trainer. No one is arguing with you.

Lol I know that no one is arguying with me. :) I was just saying I feel like *I'm* arguying my thoughts... :oP

You know, I bet "a***ole" trainers are less common than the talk here. I'm sure your trainer could manage to allow your bathroom breaks. True, daily showers may take too much time out of a truck driver's day. But that call of nature is common among all people.

Errol, I keep thinking that. I'll most likely get to training and think everyone is great. :)

Then you could either stop arguing with your thought or you could tell your thoughts to stop arguing with you rofl-3.gif

Seriously, though, I agree with Errol: "...your trainer could manage to allow your bathroom breaks."

For the shower part of the equation, though, doesn't the truck stop long enough somewhere each day for the driver and trainee to shower? I'm asking because I don't know any better. It's easy for me to sit here at the keyboard and think about a shower a few rooms away. But, when I think about drivers needing showers, I am having a problem understanding why there doesn't seem to be enough time to stop each day for a few minutes? I mean, it is 14 on, 10 off, right? I suppose I'm oversimplifying this again...

Exactly my thoughts! lollll I can't imagine why in the world you wouldn't have time to shower of you HAVE TO stop for 10 hours. I don't need 10 hours sleep. I need 8. That leaves me 2 hours to eat and shower (or clean myself real good with soap and water)

Unless I'm missing some info here....
