I finally got my travel arrangements and officially set up to start at West Side Transport on Monday. Considering orientation followed by 30 days with a trainer, I want to travel lite.

Today I went out and purchased a sleeping bag. I'll get the nice bedding after I get my own truck lol. Got some good leather work gloves and small sized personal care items. I should be able to do this with 1 duffel/soft side carryon + the sleeping bag which is in it's own handy dandy storage bag w/ handle. Pillow? Meh, I'll just improvise, using my coat or a hoodie til I pick one up at a Walmart somewhere.

The upside to the ride on the grey dog is I leave at midnight on Saturday, so I'll be cutting zzzs to Iowa.

Congratulations and good luck Sue!

I just thought of something: a sleeping bag liner. It's like a sleeping bag made out of a sheet and its way easier to wash than your bag!

30 days sleeping in the same sheets? It can be done. But .... wtf-2.gif

Awesome, and thank you guys. I will definitely stick around and give the lowdown on West Side Transport. My former coworker and classmate and now again coworker, started with them a few weeks ago and has nothing but good things to say about the company and his trainer. His trainer is from Iowa so he gets the hotel treatment every weekend while the trainer gets his hometime.

I'll be at the Red Roof Inn in Cedar Rapids.

Errol, I hadn't thought of that. Ill be sure to pack a sheet too.

Good for you Sue, congratulations!

You've had a challenging journey thus far and provided a great example of how persistence and hard work will prevail in a difficult situation. Best of luck and success to you!
