Hey everyone. I know I've been MIA on the forum for a while. I thought I'd let you all know that your kind words and advice have paid off. On Monday, I testout to get my own truck. It's going to be really easy for me. I've had some wild experiences in training, from going days in the same clothes to fighting with my trainer to jackknifing the truck to getting woken up by the police banging on the side of the truck to getting cursed out for pulling into a parking spot instead of backing into it. What a ride this has been!

But I took away two valuable things: experiences I could never have elsewhere and the certainty that this lifestyle is for me.

A couple of side notes: I finally got my bag from Greyhound to those that are interested.

And ERROL! I'M at your home terminal! I'll be here for the next two or three days! Let me know if you show up!

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Little Trucker, I think you are going to make a real truck driver!

I especially liked this sentiment you shared with us after all the crazy stuff you've been through while in training - that was classic on an epic scale!

I love that!

Awesome Little Trucker. I leave on the ole grey dog tonight headed for orientation and praying they don't lose my suitcase on the way to Iowa. As a just in case (thanks to your story) I'm carrying a change of clothes, cell and tablet charger, and all my personal hygiene items in a small duffel as a carryon.

Congrats on your well deserved upgrade!

Thank you for the compliment. Taking away positive valuable information is always the way to go. I can honestlysay everything I've suffered through has been worth it!

I WAS JUST THERE THIS MORNING!! (Saturday). But I won't be back for several days. Stopped in the Lounge at the T-call window around 11am.
