I just drove Cabbage this morning for the first time, and Donner last week, and in my opinion both are overrated. I've had more butterflies from some of the Eastern mountain ranges.
I totally agree with you Trucktographer. There's some places in Pennsyvania off the interstate that will take the breath right out of your lungs - they may not be as long of a descent as those well know Western mountains, but they have got a lot of punch packed into their short little down hill plunge. I remember the first time I did Donner's - I went right through it with ease, not even knowing I was on it until later at a truck stop somebody asked me how it was coming through there.

I did both Donner and Cabbage in the dark for my first time and they were each a cake walk.
