I am currently gathering everything & packing my clothes & things for CDL Training with Swift Transportation in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm leaving from Baton Rouge at 6:46 pm by Grey Hound Bus. This is a 41 hour drive! OMG how bored & miserable will I be. But I'm excited & so ready for this. It's been a looooong wait & the day is finally here. Wish me luck! Also I read a lot of you guys diaries so I will try to start my own & keep you guys updated on my new Career choice. Thanks for the good information on this site as well!

Congratulations Swift is an excellent company to start your career with! I hear the SLC terminal is great just stay warm.

Most of us empathize with your greyhound journey. Consider it a right of passage. Keep us informed of your progress and have fun

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

This is a 41 hour drive!

Did they offer any other transportation options or is Greyhound the only way?

Practice sleeping. Seriously, most folks aren't used to sleeping while moving. Get some earplugs too. Good luck. Keep your mind open to what the instructor is teaching. Remember to breathe.

I'll be looking for your posts, too, Theron!

Here's a bottom-line thought:

No matter how stressed you get, most of your class feels the same way ... and most will get through it and PASS!
