Congrats on your truck Sue. You're finally out there doing the job. I always enjoy seeing people join this forum, and watching their progression from prospective driver to actual rookie driver. It's great to see that you're having fun in spite of the blunders - being able to laugh at yourself is so valuable. Whatever it takes to get you through a tough day. I remember my first week, running New England and finishing up in Jersey City - I wanted to quit! All I kept thinking about was my family and how I was supporting them. That was my motivation; quitting wasn't an option.

It's awesome being a truck driver, isn't it? I love it!

Thanks so much everyone. Today I went shopping to get some nice bedding, rugs, etc. For my new truck.

Sue, it sounds like you are off to a good start. I love hearing about those rookie mistakes, because we all make them, and if we are doing this right, we all learn from them. It's really a rewarding time, but draining and exhausting at times.

Nice bedding and some rugs will help you feel better at the end of the day though! Congratulations, hang in there, and keep those stories coming, we love em!

Me neither, if I could just talk the company into making room for my motorcycle I'd virtually never have to come home at all.

Congrats... But why are you getting lost... Don't have a gps ,atlas and Google??? I always Google my shipper and cosignee to get a birds eye view of how to get in there....

Lol scott.. I had directions in my messages but what I didn't realize until too late was my messages can't be accessed while moving if I'm solo in a truck and gps was trying to route me through residential areas. So I had to find a place to pull over then access directions that weren't exactly accurate. It's one of those.. now I know situations that can be prevented. Just my newby first run.
