After ten years out of the truck Im ready to drive for a company again but some companies want me to go out with a trainer again and that is my fear now,I don't think I can trust anybodys driving while I'm sleeping in the back.Is there anything I can do to overcome my fears.

Don't be such a Bonehead! smile.gif

Look, ten years is a long time. There isn't a company out there who can hire you without sending you out with a trainer. You're just gonna have to get over it - they aren't sending you out with a total Moron - you're going with a trainer. I know some of them aren't so great - I remember thinking mine had to have been the worst, but I just took it one day at a time and then one day I was on my own.

You can do it!

Some companies require the Trainer to be in the passenger seat while you are driving. So you're not driving like a team.

Maybe look for those companies. I know Schneider is one.

Good luck!

Find a company that doesn't treat you as a cheap labor team driver, there are many who only have you drive and the trainer sits in the front, and its more a mentored solo thing.

McElroy Truck Lines was looking for some drivers up your way & some dedicated out of Wheatfield IN. No team driving so you're both up and awake when the truck is on the road.
